We finished designing and laying out the course today. This is the BEST course we have designed. There are 5 mud pits that both the 1 mile and 3 mile kids get to do. We have 6 walls, plenty of tires, hills, sand and all kinds of things to crawl under and over. The course has been modified so much of it is on trails through the woods (don't worry parents you will be able to see you child 90% of the time) instead of through the open field. The course map has been updated and is 90% accurate. We will be adding / moving obstacle prior to race day. See you Saturday!
The Dirty Dog KIDS Mud Run is part of SummitFest. SummitFest is held annually in the Village of Summit and this year includes a 5K, 10K & 1/2 marathon road race, food, beverages, live music and baseball tournament. Come for the races, stay for the fun.
Race Day Registration
There will be plenty of water on the course in both bottle form and mud form. In addition, we will have IXL Sports Hydration drink at water stops.
We do not set a minimum age for the race. As parents, you know if you child is ready for a fun run like this. If you have a little one that wants to participate and my be a little timid, we suggest that he/she starts at the back. That way the older kids will be out of the way at the first obstacle and he/she can take their time.
Parents cannot run the race with their child. However, we understand that younger kids might need a little help and we encourage that. If Johnny needs a little help over an obstacle or through the mud then by all means feel free to help him. We only ask that parents not participate in the race.
We do have a wave at our September Dirty Dog Mud Run where parents and children can run together.
Want something for the kids to remember the event with? We offer a bib with the child's name and team name printed on them. You can order it when registering.
Custom bibs are not closed. You will recieve a custom bid but we can no longer add a child's name to it.

The first wave has sold out so we added a second wave. We will likely further split the waves by age to ensure all the kids have a good time and the course is not to crowded. If you have kids that want to run together and we split them, no worries. We can move them around on race day.
We will start the Kids Mud Run as soon as we clear the 1/2 marathon course from SummitFest. That will occur right around 10:30 am. The 3 mile runners will go first followed by the 1 mile runners. In previous years, we split the waves into 2 groups for each the 3 mile course and 1 mile course. Each wave leaves about 10 minutes apart. Again we ensure that the course is clear so that kids do not get stacked up on obstacles or mud pits. Most everyone will start no later than 11:15.
You will be able to pick up your packet July 12th at the park from 4-7 or race day at the park.
3 mile course - overall winner will recieve a 4 foot trophy. All kids will receive a finishers medal.
Parking is available at Genesee Lake Road park. You can park in the main parking area but it is limitted. If full, there is overflow parking to the east of the park in the farm field.
We will have the Dousman EMS staff on site to address any injuries.
