Run For Stephanie
We are proud to help give back to our runners, their families and friends. This year we are supporting Steph's Squad as part of the DoLittle Marathon weekend. We hope you can find a way to help support Stephanie as she make her way through this journey.
Want to run for free? Raise $100 and we will refund your entry fee. All you have to do is register for the race, raise $100 or MORE in pledges and bring the
and pledges to the race and turn it in. We will then reimburse your entry fee.
From Steph's Squad
We're running for Stephanie! On September 25, 2016 Mark Schorse, Rachel Jacobson and Sara Schorse will be lacing up their shoes to run the Dolittle Marathon on the Glacial Drumlin Trail. Why would they do this? They will each be running 26.2 miles as part of team "Run for Stephanie" in order to raise support to help cover some of Stephanie's medical bills.
On January 12th, 2016 Stephanie Jacobs, received the life-altering news that she had Stage IV breast cancer. Since then she has frozen her eggs, undergone two rounds of
chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and is just now starting radiation, with hormone therapy to come. Throughout this process not only has Stephanie had to deal with the physical and emotional affects of cancer and its treatment, but also has had to stress about the enormous costs that will continue to pile up throughout her efforts to fight and beat this disease. And WE want to help!
Team "Run for Stephanie" started training back in May, with the intent of running a marathon to raise money to help Stephanie cover some of her medical expenses. They need YOUR help and support to accomplish this goal! Any amount is welcome and will contribute to Stephanie's medical expenses.
And here is the BEST part! After receiving her last round of chemo in July, Stephanie was given the unbelievably exciting news that the chemo was effective and she is currently cancer free! As exciting as that news is, she still has plenty of medical bills that have piled up throughout this process, and many more still to come. Again, no amount is too small! If you are unsure of what to donate, consider matching dollars for miles with a donation of $26.20.
