To be eligible for the final championship awards, runners must have participated in four of the seven races. Awards will be based on a point system (1st place 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, 3rd place 8 points through 10th place). In the event of a tie, age will be the tie breaker with the oldest individual winning. All age groups are based on the age of the runner at the end of the year. Awards will be presented at the final race at Nashotah Park September 27.
Series runners (you must sign up for the entire series) will receive a custom Wisconsin Trail Assail Series finishers medal.
The start is a traditional cross country start with the entire field toeing the line. At the gun, runners cross a 200M open field before heading out on the trail system. Over 90% of the race is through Nashotah Park's forests and past both Forest Lake and Grass Lake. The trails are wide and are groomed year round. At the finish, runners leave the trail for the last 100M open field sprint to the finish line. The 5K is one loop, 10K two loops and half marathon is 2.5 loops. Course maps can be downloaded by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. The course may change slightly based on trail conditions.
We have added a 5K walk division which will follow the same course as the run.
Spikes are permitted.
