Wisconsin Trail Assail
Wisconsin's Largest Cross Country Trail Series
Six races over six months with a series ending championship. The races are held in Waukesha County Parks and are 5K & 10K distances. Run/walk some or all of the races.

Courses
All of the races are held in Waukesha County Parks. The courses are on groomed, scenic, tree lined trails.

The final course will be determined a few weeks prior to each event based on trail / park conditions and occupancy.
The start is a traditional cross country start with the entire field toeing the line. At the gun, runners cross an open field before heading out on the trail system. The vast majority of the races are through forests and on groomed paths. The trails are wide and are groomed year round. At the finish, runners leave the trail for the last open field sprint to the finish line. The 5K is one loop and the 10K is two loops. Course maps will be posted as they become available.
Series Championship Awards
To be eligible for the final championship awards, runners must have participated in four of the six races. Awards will be based on the sum of each runners four fastest races. In the event of a tie, age will be the tie breaker with the senior runner winning. Awards will be presented at the final race at Nashotah Park October 5th.

Spikes are permitted.
Elite Runners
Male elite runners with a sub 16 minute 5K cross country or sub 15.15 minute road in 2012 race for free.
Female elite runners with a sub 18.30 minute 5K cross country or sub 18 minute road in 2012 race for free.
Email the race director with your 2012 times and courses for a free code. Free entries are limited and at the discretion of the race director.
High School / Collegiate Cross Country Runners
If you ran cross country in 2012, the entry fee is $15. Sorry a shirt is not provided but may be purchased at the event. If you are running track or cross country in 2013, please check with your coach to ensure you are eligible to race.

Awards
Medals for 1st - 3rd male & female in 5 year age brackets. Each race will have different awards for overall winners and miscellaneous awards.
Lockers floral will be providing award flowers to overall men and women winners at each race.

Water Stops
There will be water stops at mile 1.5 of the 5K and miles 1.5, 3 & 4.5 on the 10K course.
Packet Pickup
Packets can be picked up the day of the race and the evening before. Off site packet pick up will be announced on the individual race website the prior to the race.
Park Fee
There is a $4.00 entry fee per car or you can purchase a Waukesha County Park annual sticker. For information about purchasing a ticket see the Waukesha Country Parks website.
